Appliances

Stoves 

The stoves in both the Casa and Casita, the stoves are gas.  To use them turn the knob and press down. Pressing down will trigger the ignitor and light the gas.  Turn the knob to reduce or raise the flame as needed.  Be sure to turn off the burner when done.

If the stove won’t light, the gas tank may be empty.  Please contact Gabi to ask her to change it.  Unfortunately, due to safety, we cannot allow guests to change the gas tanks for the house.

 

Laundry/Washing Machine

Casa Madina has 2 washing machines and 2 dryers that you can use if needed.  They are located up on the roof, behind the door to the left of the pool. The purple key left in the Casa or Casita will open the door.

 

Water Temp:

We only have cold water lines to the washers.

 

A Note on Bleach:

There is no spot for bleach (I add to the detergent space, but notice that the detergent flows directly onto the clothing, which you may not want with bleach).The other option for bleach is to set the machine and turn it on first, fill it with water, then pause the machine, put in the bleach, and then add your clothes and restart.

 

How to Use the Washer closest to the door:

  1. Open top (lift up) and put clothes in.

  2. Open the Detergent tray at the back.  Detergent to the right, Fabric softener to the left. 

  3. Press the power button (left side of the display panel)

  4. Use the knob to select the wash cycle

    1. Jeans

    2. Blanca (whites)(

    3. Color (dark clothes)

    4. Express (quick wash)

    5. Delicada (delicates)

    6. Deportiva (Sports clothing)

    7. Voluminosa – (large capacity load)

    8. Sanitizado (Sanitize  - don’t use, this requires hot water and is a longer cycle)

    9. Cama (bed sheets)

    10. Toallas (towels)

    11. Profundo (heavy wash)

    12. Bebé (baby clothing)

  5. Under the round knob, the Nivel de Suciedad (water level).  It will default to Medio (medium) press the button to the right to change the level.

  6. You don’t need to adjust any of the settings in the display panel.

  7. Press the Start button (looks like a TV/DVD/Streaming Play/Pause button) to start washing.  If the top is shut completely, it will start filling with water.

 

Second Washer (by the wall, furthest from the door):

  1. Open top (lift up) and Put clothes in.

  2. Open the Detergent tray at the back.  Detergent to the left, Fabric softener to the right. 

  3. Press the power button (middle red button – Encender/Apagar)

  4. The washer will detect your clothing and set the water level automatically.  If you want to change it, press the button on the far left (Nivel de Agua = Water Level).  Press as needed to get the required water level.

  5. The machine will default to Lavar = Wash (options: Enjuagar = Rinse, Centrifugar = Spin)

  6. You can change the amount of washing by pressing Poder de Lavado = Wash Strength

  7. You can also use the pre-set programs on the right.  Options are:
    Normal = normal 
    Lavado Rapido = Quick Wash
    Pesado = Heavy Wash
    Ropa de Cama = Bed sheets
    Jeans = Jeans; 
    Delicados = delicates
    Remojar = Soak; 
    Ahorra de Agua = Water Saver; 
    Lavado Eco de Tambor =  Eco Wash 
     

  8. To start washing, press “Incio/Pausa = Start/Pause”

 

Gas for Dryers: Before you can use the dryers, make sure the gas is turned on (turn the knob on the top of the blue gas tank counter-clockwise) ​

Dryer on the Right

  1. Put the clothes in the dryer

  2. Remove and clean out the lint trap

  3. Turn the large dial on the left to select a program.

    1. Carga Variada (misc, various clothing)

    2. Planchado Permanente (Permanent Press)

    3. Delicada (delicates)

    4. Express (quick dry(

    5. Jeans

    6. Secar por Tiempo (time dry, set the time on the panel with the button “Tiempo”)

    7. Calentar (high heat)

    8. Esponjar con Air (no Heat)

    9. Sanitizado (Sanitize  - don’t use, it is a 3hour+ cycle)

    10. Voluminosa – (large capacity load)

    11. Ropa de Cama (bed sheets)

    12. Algodones (cottons)

  4. You don’t need to adjust any of the settings in the display panel.

  5. Press the Start button (looks like a TV/ Streaming Play/Pause button) to start drying.

 

Dryer on the Left (Mabe)

  1. Put the clothes in the dryer

  2. Remove and clean out the lint trap

  3. Turn the large dial on the left to select a program.

    1. Left Upper Algodon = Cotton are:
      Mas Seco = more dry; Optimo = normal dry; menos seco = less dry

    2. Right Upper Planchado Permanente = Permanent Press are:
      Mas Seco = more dry; menos seco = less dry

    3. Bottom half, Time Dry.
      Select a time duration to dry

  4. Change smaller dial on the right (Temperatura = Temperature) as needed:

    1. Alta (algodones) = High (cotton)

    2. Media (Planchado Permanente) = Medium (permanent press)

    3. Solo aire (sin calor) = Air only (no heat)

  5. Press the button on the far right Incio = Start

  

BBQ Grill

There is a small red BBQ in the laundry room on the roof.  It is a standard charcoal grill.

There may be charcoal in the house, but if not, you will need to buy some.  Also, there may be fire starter here (it is called Fuego) and is a gel. A little big goes a long way.

 

After using the BBQ, please clean the grill and, once cooled, remove the ashes and throw them away.  Be careful that the charcoal is completely out (pour water on it if needed) before disposing of ashes.  Do NOT start a fire in the garbage bin down the street.
