Casa & Casita
The house is beautiful and it’s spacious enough for a big family. The house has everything you need to enjoy your trip to Vallarta and it’s walking distance to various delicious restaurants. I recommend anyone who is thing of staying here to reserve your stay ASAP.

Casa Madina is a must despite the hike up to the house.
Casa Madina
Matthew was absolutely increible. Casa Madina is a must despite the hike up to the house. It is ~20 min from el Malecon but definitely worth it. A huge thank you to Matthew for everything.

As a 3 generation family of 5 we had a lot of varying needs and Casa Madina met all of them!
Casa Madina
Before we even checked in, Matthew sent us a complete informative email about amenities and packing. Gabi the property manager went above and beyond to get us all checked in and feeling at home. Everything about Casa Madina was equally helpful and thought out. There are so many little touches, like labeled light switches and creamer in addition to coffee. The business cards with a map and taxi fare info were SO helpful! We have been to puerto Vallarta before and visited the Alta vista neighborhood, but the walk up is a little overwhelming from the bottom of the stairs. (Granted, I was also carrying our 24 pound baby!) we found taking the stairs to be much easier than the steep streets. As my mother in law said, “we can eat as many tortillas as we want!” We loved the roof terrace and enjoyed breakfast there every morning and stargazing every night. The neighborhood is REALLY quiet, so when the dogs fight (and it’s Mexico, it will happen) you notice. We made a dog friend for the week we were sad to leave behind. The beds were really comfortable with quality bedding and not having to pack beach towels was a huge bonus. As a 3 generation family of 5 we had a lot of varying needs and Casa Madina met all of them!

Rooftop terrace with a great view
Casa Madina
This is a very secure, spacious house on a very steep hill, but it close to everything. There were 5 in our party, and we did not feel cramped. However, I would suggest a maximum of 4 people in the house, otherwise rent the optional casita too as the sofa bed is not comfortable.
Plenty of hot water, good beds in the rooms, and a rooftop terrace with a great view.
The property manager and owner were very responsive to our needs, even during check-in when some of us were delayed.

only suitable for one person
Casita Madina
First and foremost, if you can’t walk 400-450 feet in two minutes on a flat surface then not for you. There are three significant 45-degree hills on cobblestones, which are slippery and basically impassable when wet. Via the series of convoluted stairs you will also have over 200 steps and walkways and still two hills.
As described now, only suitable for one person (i.e. double bed not queen), and if you are looking for inexpensive place to basically only use for sleeping and showering and are not looking for anything else then go for it.
The flip side is you can get to centre of Romantic zone with all its amenities in 15-20 minutes. Walking back will take you 25-30
RESPONSE:
We are very disappointed that you did not seem to enjoy your stay. We are also disappointed that you did not reach out during your stay to us or our local manager with any of your concerns. While we cannot fix everything, we would have tried to work with you to make your stay more comfortable.
We did describe the house as 'atop Alta Vista' and mentioned in the more detailed description about the hills and that taking a taxi back up is the easiest way to get to the house. Yes, Puerto Vallarta is quite hilly, once you get away from the beach area. Those hills are what give us the nice views down on the Old Town area and the bay.
As for the bed, it is indeed a queen sized bed purchased in Mexico and we use queen-sized sheets from the US which fit appropriately. I am not sure why you found it too small; we have not heard that issue before from any of our other guests.

Our family had my fathers 90th birthday party on the roof top. Had tables delivered and chef come and cooked Dad’s father foods. Priceless memories

An enchanting place to stay.
Casa Madina
Casa Madina was an enchanting place to stay. Beautifully decorated in a Mexican motif. Plenty of room for our group of 10 (if you include the downstairs Casita). The view from the roof is breathtaking and lounging in the rooftop bathing pool was relaxing and time well spent. Day or night, the rooftop is very special. The walk to the beaches takes about 15 mins. but I definitely recommend taking the time. You will stroll through residential areas, meeting locals and really get the flavor of Puerto Vallarta. The beaches are lovely and not particularly crowded. Take advantage of the many beach side restaurants for a little something to eat or to quench your thirst. Everywhere we ate was great but I especially recommend the Vista Grill. We celebrated birthdays there on the beach, not beside the beach on a patio. Our table was in the sand with the surf only 10 yds. away. We enjoyed our drinks while watching the sunset over the ocean. There is plenty to do and see whether during the day or night. Interesting shops everywhere and night spots all up and down the beach.
I do suggest that you take a taxi home. It's pretty cheap and the walk back can be steep. But if it wasn't so steep the view from the rooftop wouldn't be so magnificent.

A great experience staying there
Casa Madina
We stayed there for New Years Eve with our family and their kids. It was kid friendly, we had a great time. The house manager Gabriela was very punctual and friendly, and also very helpful with suggestions.
It was a great experience staying there, I'd definitely come back here! Thank you, Matt!
